Family Ties
Building Ties Between Parents And Teens

1. Family Ties Mission (why we exist)

  • Meet the needs of the people – healing/building relationships between
    parents and teens.
  • Equip parents to raise Godly teens.
  • Equip families to be strong – withstand the attacks from the Satan and the world.
  • Equip families to be ministry-minded – share with and encourage other families with what they learn.

2. Family Ties Vision

  • Personal growth – as demonstrated by new leaders stepping up and new-comers getting involved.
  • Enlarge our impact – “no parent left behind,” reach more of our church and community.
  • Building deep relationships – small caring/sharing groups within the class
  • Active mission involvement – family mission projects.

3. Family Ties Plans – high-level plans for how we are going to accomplish the vision

  • Hold regular leadership council planning meetings.
  • Institute format changes – breakout discussion groups, prayer groups.
  • Host an “open-door lunch” to introduce Family Ties ministry to other families at Grace.
  • More social functions (at least quarterly) – grow personal relationships.
    e. Community outreach activity (at least 2) – nursing home visit, homeless ministry project, etc.
  • Hold joint parent-teen learning sessions (at least 2).
