Angel Food
SUBSTANTIAL SAVINGS FOR ALL ON HIGH QUALITY FOOD!
In today's economy, we can all use a break when it comes even to routine living expenses, such as the food we put on our tables. Help is here! A dedicated group of people at Grace have committed themselves to provide the workforce required for this "neighbors helping neighbors" endeavor.
Participating is easy. Orders and distribution are handled by church host sites. Orders are taken during the first part of each month (see the monthly schedule) and then later in the same month, the food is delivered to Grace where it is met by our group of Grace volunteers who will be waiting to meet you as you pick up your order.
Angel Food is provided in a quantity that can fit into a medium-sized box at $30 per unit. Each month's menu, consisting of both fresh and frozen items, is different from that of the previous month and has an average retail value of approximately $70-$80, based on local comparison-shopping. Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single individual for almost a month.
The food is all the same high quality one could purchase at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or outdated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe. Also offered are specialty boxes such as steaks, chicken and pork at an additional cost. There is no limit to the number of units or bonus foods an individual can purchase.
Payment in the form of cash, check, credit card or food stamps, is required at the time food orders are placed. Orders are taken in-person only, on Sundays between 9am and noon, and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7 pm. Food deliveries generally will occur on the fourth Saturday of every month (there may be some slight variations due to holidays).

Distribution Day Videolog: April 25, 2009
This is a video of what goes on at the
Angelfood Distribution that happens once a month at Grace
Hudson. Angelfood is a national
program that distributes food to anyone who wants it at
wholesale food prices and is run by volunteers. Grace Hudson
is the regional distribution site for all of New England,
and there are presently about 10 organizations who meet the
truck in the Grace parking lot to offload the food at 5 AM.
Then food is distributed to over 200 families who come in to
pick up their food.
